The Vision Therapy Process

A standard eye exam checks your eyes’ physical health and ability to focus. It also looks for disease and measures your ability to see 20/20. It doesn’t, however, evaluate how well your eyes move or work together (or function).

The first step is for you to meet with Dr. Beth Munzel or Dr. Cheryl Adams. She will discuss your concerns and goals and perform a vision therapy evaluation.  A vision therapy evaluation is a series of tests that look beyond clear sight and ocular health to evaluate how your eyes work together. You may find us on your own, be referred by a friend or you may learn about us from your eye doctor.

Following your vision therapy evaluation, the doctor will review the findings with you and will recommend appropriate treatment options.  In some cases, you may be asked to return for additional testing to help diagnose all relevant vision related issues.

If a vision therapy program is recommended to you, then a comprehensive custom vision therapy program will be designed to meet your unique vision needs.  Periodic progress evaluations will help ensure you are reaching your goals.

Creative, fun activities in a bright environment will make reaching your goals a pleasant experience.

If you don't live in the area, seek a developmental optometrist near you by visiting the following websites: www.covd.org or www.oepf.org and locating a doctor.
