About Dr. Beth Munzel
Dr. Beth Munzel, a developmental optometrist, is a Cincinnati native. She graduated from Purcell Marian High School in the top 5% of her class, followed by receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in the field of Chemistry from the University of Dayton. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1996. She had the good fortune to spend time studying ocular disease as an intern at Washington University School of Medicine Ophthalmology Department as well as studying vision therapy with renowned optometrist, Dr. Lynn Hellerstein in Denver, Colorado.
She has practiced comprehensive family optometry since graduation in 1996 in South Carolina, Michigan and, now, Cincinnati since 2001. She has worked at Buten Eyewear in downtown Cincinnati since August 2001. From 2011-2013 she served as the first optometrist at the OneSight Vision Center at Oyler School in Lower Price Hill, where she examined over 1200 students. While there, she was able to help get the vision therapy program organized. Since her tenure there ended, she has actively pursued adding vision therapy to her practice in order to provide vision therapy services that are much needed in the community, but not offered by many other providers. She has been offering optometric vision therapy services at the Vision Therapy Studio since September 2014.
In April 2016, she earned the distinction of becoming Board Certified in Vision Development as a Fellow in College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She looks forward to the challenge of helping others in need of vision therapy. She is married and has three sons. In her spare time, she enjoys exercise, music, good food and traveling, with a special interest in the magic of Walt Disney World.
